Representatives from Abel + Imray were delighted to receive the award and recognition for Europe Cross-border Patent Litigation Team of the year, yesterday evening (11 April) at the prestigious ManagingIP awards in London.
This award was specifically presented this year for our work in the case of Ocado v Autostore. Our team have been deeply involved in that dispute for 6+ years advising Ocado on the European/US patent strategy, leading all of the numerous EPO oppositions, and leading the generation and prosecution of IP carved out from Ocado’s early patent portfolio. The dispute as a whole has involved a spectacular array of issues, and we think it has been a great example of how to blend litigation and prosecution to secure the right result - in this case a £206,700,000 payment to Ocado.
We were delighted to share the event and celebration with members of the IP team at Ocado as well as the other UK and German counsel who were central to this successful outcome.
