The UK Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, announced funding boost for organisations that innovate with a pledge to more than double spending on UK government research and development by 2024.
In the 2020 Budget, an additional £900m would be made available for research into nuclear fusion, space and electric vehicles. The Science Institute in Surrey would also get a boost of £1.4bn.
