We previously shared a post of the impact that the COVID-19 virus outbreak is having around the world, and deadline extensions from the EPO, EUIPO and UKIPO.
Here is an update to this information - more detailed information about these notifications can be accessed by clicking on the title of each institution.
UKIPO- have announced that the period of interrupted days will come to an end on 29 July 2020. The first day of normal business will be 30 July 2020 and all official deadlines will expire on that day
Having extended all time limits expiring between 9 March 2020 and 17 May 2020, the European Union IPO ended this extension period so that all extended deadlines fall on 18 May 2020.
To allow for ongoing disruption due to the COVID-19 outbreak the EUIPO will, upon request and in particular circumstances, grant extensions of up to six months in both ex parte and inter partes proceedings. The EUIPO also sets out the particular circumstances where it is possible to suspend inter partes proceedings, seek continuation of proceedings where a deadline has been missed, and seek the reinstatement of rights under restitutio in integrum.
