As a Chartered and European Patent Attorney and European Patent Litigator, Neil represents clients in matters before the UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO), the European Patent Office (EPO) and the Unified Patent Court (UPC).
Academic Qualifications: Master’s of Engineering Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Imperial College PhD in telecommunications and signal processing, Imperial College
Neil has extensive experience in electronics, computer systems design and architecture, databases, software and hardware, semiconductors, virtual and augmented reality systems, software-as-a-service systems, artificial intelligence/machine learning, sensors, medtech, and mobile and fixed telecommunications. He has specialist knowledge of signal processing, including audio, image and graphics processing.
Neil has particular interest in patenting battery technology. His experience within the battery technology sector includes battery circuitry, wireless battery charging, battery operation and performance monitoring and management systems (BMS), electric vehicles and electric vehicle charging stations, and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) systems.
Prior to joining the patent profession, Neil worked as a system design engineer for a large European space company.
