B.Eng. Mechanical Engineering, University of Surrey
Rachael joined Abel + Imray in 2020 and is based in our London office. She has a mechanical engineering background and her work at Abel + Imray covers a wide range of industries including aerospace, pest control, household and mechanical devices. She works with a variety of clients ranging from small local businesses to in-house IP departments at large multinational companies.
From November 2023, Rachael spent a year in Australia working as an IP & Commercialisation Manager at a university in Melbourne. There, she developed and implemented strategies for managing the development and commercialisation of the University’s IP portfolio. She represented the university in IP negotiations with industry partners, established licensing agreements and dealt with issues surrounding IP ownership and entitlement.
Before Rachael started training as a patent attorney, she worked as an engine simulation engineer, optimising the performance of engines for hybrid vehicles. Rachael is an alumnus of the Royal Academy of Engineering’s Engineering Leaders Scholarship and is an active member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.
