As a UK Chartered Trade Mark Attorney, an Irish Registered Trade Mark Agent and a European Trade Mark Attorney, Simon is able to represent clients in matters before the UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO), the Intellectual Property Office of Ireland (IPOI) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

Simon joined Abel + Imray in 1997 and splits his time between our London and Ribadeo offices. Prior to that, Simon spent four years in Spain as an English-language teacher and then as Director of Studies of a language school and as a translator/interpreter, being fluent in Spanish and French. He subsequently gained two years' commercial experience in a buying department in the head office of a large retail organisation.
Simon is experienced in all aspects of trade mark work and advises frequently on contentious issues, including domain name disputes. He has been involved in major company acquisition and reorganisation work and has a detailed knowledge of Community Designs. Simon has lectured on European trade mark cases in recent years including lectures at two International Conferences of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA). From March 2007 to March 2011, he was elected to and served on the Council of CITMA and was the chair of both its Designs and PR & Communications Committees.
