Tom started out in the profession in 2009 and joined Abel + Imray in 2021, based in our Bath office.
Tom has experience of all aspects of patent practice, focussing especially on drafting, freedom to operate work, and inter partes work such as oppositions.
Initially, he trained in another private practice firm and then worked for several years for a major household appliance manufacturer, working as an attorney yet deeply embedded into design process.
He has represented clients in fields such as bioengineering, metal joining, defence, aerospace, automotive technology, machine tools and load handling.
Tom was the recipient of the Michael Jones Prize for best performance in the UK ‘P4’ Amendment paper.
